Connecting words, ideas and comparisons

Backlink Spiders is a growing library of similes and descriptive-writing ideas. Our name reflects what a good simile does: it spins a connection between two unlike things so a reader suddenly sees one in a new way.

We organise every comparison by topic and purpose, explain what it means, and show it in a real sentence — so students, teachers, parents and writers can find the right words quickly and use them with confidence.
